Overview

Meridian is a completely natural oolitic aragonite substrate (spherical or ovoid) for all reefs and marine aquariums. Meridian is the premium aragonite substrate for reef aquariums.

Its grain size (0.25 to 0.50 mm, quite uniform) is perfectly suited for reef inhabitants, and its chemical composition will help stabilize calcium and alkalinity while preventing significant drops in pH. Unlike competing "wet" products marketed as "live," Meridian™ is sold dry, so you only pay for the gravel and not for unnecessary water.

These products imply that they contain living and microscopic animals, while in fact, they only contain common bacteria. Whether dry or wet, bacteria exist on all available substrates.

Install

Simply rinse before use to remove any residual dust.

When adding water to the aquarium, fill it slowly to avoid disturbing the Meridian™ bed. Place a bowl in the aquarium and add water directly into the bowl, allowing the water to gently overflow onto the gravel bed. Initial cloudiness is normal. To eliminate cloudiness, use mechanical filtration (such as filter floss). Use Clarity™ to speed up the cleaning process.
