En savoir plus

The Cypraea annulus, also known as the "money cowry," is a marine animal that has served as a distinctive sign of wealth. Found in the Indo-Pacific region, it is white in color. However, yellow variations are visible on its shell. It can be easily confused with other close species like the Cypraea moneta or the Cypraea obvelata. Generally, it evolves near coral reefs and algae-rich cavities. In aquariums, it has the advantage of being absolutely harmless to other animals. However, it is highly discouraged to associate it with hermit crabs, which might eat it.

Cypraea annulus: porcelain snail. This snail is a very good aquarium cleaner, it feeds primarily on algae. The acclimatization of Cypraea annulus should not be done randomly. Make sure to remove it from the water only with the slit facing upwards. If you do otherwise, an air bubble could enter the shell and cause its death.
