En savoir plus

The Gramma loreto is a fish with a bicolored body. Indeed, while the front part of its body is purple, the back contrasts completely with an intense yellow color. Additionally, a band runs across its eye on each side. Living in the waters around the American continent, it frequents coral reefs.

In an aquarium, a volume of 80 liters is the minimum required for this species. The water temperature should be between 23°C and 27°C, and the pH between 8 and 8.5. A reef environment with live rocks is ideal for it. Numerous shelters must be provided to offer it a calm living space. Without this, the animal will hide all day, and you might not see it, which would be a shame given how pleasant its colors are to observe. Territorial and sometimes aggressive with its own species, the Gramma loreto can nevertheless be kept in pairs if the water volume is large enough. However, its coexistence with invertebrates is very good, sometimes even showing timidity.

Common name: Royal gramma basslet. This fish has an elongated body with one part purple and the other yellow. It is a very beautiful fish, which adds sublime colors to the aquarium.

You can keep it in a group in a 500-liter aquarium with a decor rich in hiding places.
