En savoir plus
Measuring 6 to 7 cm, this small fish owes its nickname "vanilla-strawberry" to its body divided into two distinct parts. The front part of its body is a sparkling violet, while the rear is an intense yellow. These two colors are distinctly separated in the middle of the body, vertically. The Pictichromis paccagnellae mostly lives among rocks in the Indo-Pacific region.
For effective maintenance of this species, a 110L aquarium is recommended. Additionally, the water temperature should not drop below 22°, but it should also not exceed 26°. The pH level should be between 8.2 and 8.4. Territorial and temperamental, the Pictichromis paccagnellae does not tolerate the presence of conspecifics in its living space. However, it remains compatible with reef aquariums that include many hiding spots, helping to reduce its stress. It accepts dry, fresh, or frozen foods used in aquariums. Be cautious about species compatible with this specimen because it consumes any prey that can fit into its mouth, including invertebrates and small fish.
Common name: Vanilla-strawberry Serran Fish. This fish has an elongated body with a purple front and a yellow rear half. For its well-being, it needs an aquarium with many hiding spots. It can exhibit aggressive reactions towards similarly colored fish and fish smaller than itself.
