En savoir plus
Originally from the Indo-Pacific Ocean, the Hymenocera elegans is a crustacean known for having colorful spots on its body. These spots can appear blue, purple, or sometimes rather brown. Therefore, this shrimp is nicknamed the "harlequin shrimp." This specimen enjoys the effects of the tides, moving very slowly thanks to the waves. Lastly, starfish constitute the only food for the Hymenocera elegans. Be careful, though, of its association with sea urchins, which it can consume if its dietary needs are not met.
