The MINERAL SALT Preis is a mixture of all the components present in sea salt such as minerals, trace elements, and vitamins, except for sodium chloride (table salt). Sodium chloride is the main component of sea salt and significantly increases the conductivity of water.

Add MINERAL SALT Preis to tap water or osmosis water to replace evaporated aquarium water. All the vital minerals for the growth and proper development of invertebrates and corals are thus added to the water used to compensate for evaporation.

 

The Balling method involves increasing the calcium level and carbonate hardness (KH) of seawater using two base elements: calcium chloride (CaCl2) and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3).
The calcium and bicarbonate ions combine, leading to an increase in calcium levels and carbonate hardness.
To counterbalance the ionic imbalance, a third element must be added: mineral salt devoid of sodium chloride composed only of trace elements.
The three salts: dehydrated calcium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, and mineral salt are dissolved in 2 liters of osmosis water in three different containers.

Here are the quantities of each element calculated for 2 liters of osmosis water:

- 144 g of dehydrated calcium chloride
- 163.8 g of sodium bicarbonate
- 48.75 g of mineral salt

For a 100 L aquarium, the initial dose is 50 ml per day for each solution. The dosing can be done using a syringe or with very efficient dosing pumps. It is important to pour the solutions in different places in the aquarium or sump where there is good water circulation.

Initially, measure the calcium concentration and carbonate hardness every day. These values should only rise very slowly.
If the values increase too quickly, reduce the dosage; otherwise, increase the dosage but not more than 10% of the initial dosage.
