En savoir plus
The body of the Acanthurus pyroferus has a gradient from beige to yellow, a color that is also found on its caudal fin and pectoral fins. A rust-colored patch extends from the operculum to the base of the pelvic fins. Finally, its head and the rest of its body are gray. In its natural habitat, this fish occupies the seabed in solitude. It particularly appreciates moderate to strong currents.
When kept in an aquarium, a minimum water volume of 800L is required, along with a temperature between 22° and 26°. The pH should be between 8 and 8.5. Furthermore, the surgeonfish is an omnivore with a tendency towards algae-eating. In a community, it needs a large space to be able to mark its territory and feel secure.
Common name: Mimic Surgeonfish or Rose Surgeonfish. This fish has an oval-shaped body. At the juvenile stage, it can exhibit three different color patterns depending on its origin, which gives it the name Mimic Surgeonfish. It can take on the colors of Centropyge eibli, vrolikii, or flavissima. This fish, with the common morphology of the Acanthuridae, is robust after acclimatization if you feed it well with algae supplements.
