En savoir plus

The pennant coralfish or Heniochus acuminatus gets its name from its considerably elongated dorsal fin. Its triangular body is laterally flattened and features a white coloration striped with black bands. From the head to the tail, a slight yellow hue is visible. Whether solitary or in pairs, it moves near reef bottoms in search of small prey. It is also likely to be found not far from shipwrecks.

For quality maintenance in an aquarium, a minimum volume of 380 liters is required. The water temperature should be between 24°C and 29°C, and the pH between 8.2 and 8.4. Incompatible with corals and mollusks, the Heniochus acuminatus should preferably coexist with other peaceful fish. Overall, it tolerates the presence of many specimens, except the smallest ones, which it considers as prey. This is due to its diet, which includes plankton, small invertebrates, and worms.

Common name: Pennant coralfish. This fish has a silvery body crossed by two black bands, one encompassing the pelvic fins and the other running from the back to the anal fin. For its well-being, it needs a reef-type aquarium and a varied diet including brine shrimp, krill, mussel meat, shrimp meat, etc.
